The title says it all: Autodesk Delivers Complete Building Information Model.
I'm going to start sending emails, telling the National Institute of Building Sciences, the Industry Alliance for Interoperability, the Construction Specifications Institute, the American Institute of Architects, and all the other folks working on the BIM problem that Autodesk has solved it.
They've delivered software that implements a complete building information model!
Sigh. The truth is, I'd really prefer it if someone else would call Autodesk to task for this kind of garbage. It's starting to look like I'm picking on everything that Autodesk does. (No one remembers when I point out good things they do.)
Here's the reality: No software company is ever going to be able to deliver a complete building information model. That's because a complete building information model would need to contain every bit of building information and data required from initial concept, through construction, through operation, to demolition.
This press release from Autodesk ought to be in the CAD news parody site [http://irontulips.blogspot.com] .
