In Loving Memory of Joe Greco (1963-2004) a true friend and a dedicated colleague -- one who so many were proud to know -- he will be so very greatly missed
It’s funny the things that you think about when you lose a colleague -- with Joe, it seems impossible that he could have left us this soon -- his ready smile and heartfelt laugh, made him seem like a man with so much good in him that nothing bad could ever happen
He always seemed to be able to say just the right thing -- in just the right way, to enlighten everyone and offend no one in that undeniably Brooklyn accent that let you know he was a New Yorker with a heart!
As I write this I still can’t help but feel that there’s been some mistake. Our Joe?
Everyone who knew Joe knows that he never took leave of the group without stopping by to share a thought or to present an idea for us all, to perhaps – ‘just think about’.
So doesn’t that mean that he simply cannot leave us without stopping by to at least say, ‘bye for now’?
Perhaps it is best to simply think of our friend as not having truly gone to think of him as with us still because he always will be a part of this community -- that in so many ways, he helped to create and shape.
You will be missed by so very many, Joe. So many of us were touched by your kindness, your quick wit and caring ways.
